Remote WOrking Instructions For
The Trimble Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) Division is pleased to provide assistance for setting up a remote office environment in order to use Trimble FabShop which is installed within your company network.
Home Office Requirements
In order to successfully run Trimble FabShop from your home office environment, the following requirements must be met:

Virtual Private Network (VPN)
There are many different types of VPN software and setups. The proper selection of VPN software and setup of the software should be completed by a Information Technology professional who can ensure proper installation and security measures are in place. Trimble cannot recommend specific VPN software, however, in general any standard VPN software setup properly should provide the necessary connectivity.
Remote Desktop Access (Recommended)
Using the Trimble FabShop software via Remote Desktop will provide the most seamless experience. You will be using the same computer, desktop, and software, which you are accustomed to using.
In order to take advantage of this functionality you must meet the following requirements:
Once the above requirements have been met, please log into the VPN connection and use the Remote Desktop application on your home computer. To access FabShop on your remote desktop by following the directions outlined here.
You should now be able to log into and use FabShop as if you were sitting in front of your office computer.
Installing Trimble FabShop At Home Standalone (Not Recommended)
Using the Trimble FabShop software as a Standalone installation at home will provide the ability to run the software, however will not permit the software to communicate with any equipment directly.
In order for the a stand alone set up to be completed, the following is required:

Ensure the database has been properly restored
The USB license key must be plugged into your home computer
You should now be able to login and use FabShop. Your cut files will be placed in the Cut File Folder.
